Vision is a very important factor
for learning and it is an area that should be investigated when a child is having trouble learning.

Both visual efficiency and visual processing should be part of an assessment as to whether a vision problem is interfering with school performance.

Sports Vision Program at Visual Learning CenterThe Competitive Edge

The goal of our Sports Vision Program is to maximize your potential and help you gain a competitive edge. Whether you are a weekend athlete or a seasoned professional, this program will benefit you.

What Is Sports Vision?

You can gain a competitive edge through Sports Vision, a program aimed at addressing all of the visual needs of an athlete. It begins with a Visual-Motor evaluation, which can last up to two hours. More than a standard eye examination, this evaluation provides a performance profile in such areas as eye-hand coordination, reaction time, visual concentration, peripheral awareness, and depth perception. Upon completion of each work-up, you may enroll in a weekly training program, uniquely designed to enhance visual-motor performance in your particular sport. If you require a basic visual correction, a sports vision specialist will address those needs with either eyeglasses, protective goggles or contact lenses.

Why Is A Visual-Motor Evaluation Needed?

A Visual-Motor evaluation is needed to assess those visual skills that are critical to athletic success. It allows you to determine the strengths and weaknesses of the visual system. The visual demands placed on an athlete's eyes are far greater than the average persons Therefore, the testing program needs to more precisely define these strengths and weaknesses.

Who Needs a Visual-Motor Evaluation?

This program can benefit anyone with an interest in maximizing his or her visual-motor potential.

The skills needed to preform quickly and accurately on the playing field are not the skills that are vital to other occupations. The training received through the Sports Vision Program can also provide an edge in visual fitness for the professional whose occupation requires critical reflex timing, such as dancers, airline pilots and law enforcment personel.

Goals and Expectations

Our goal is to raise the threshold of visual performance to whatever maximum levels eyes are capable of reaching. It is our contention that by accomplishing this goal, we will provide you with a competitive edge in your sport or profession.

The new-found sucess of Visual-Motor Performance Training is due to various factors; among them are the incentive of the patient for correction, the attitude and willingness to participate in the procedures, the proper instrumentation techniques, and the "know-how" of the doctor.
